Oh, if Nissan joins from 2015, they should get 13 and 15 to sandwich Porsche. Or will Porsche get 20 and 15, next year? Lol.

I bet that one Porsche will be #919 next year.

What I don't get is why nobody is using #4 and #5. Audi has dibs on 1,2 and 3, and I understand that Toyota chose #7 and #8 back in 2012 because Peugeot was expected to use 4,5, 6, but 2 years later nothing changed and the Peugeot spots are still open.

I think Toyota owns #9 too, and I think they kept their numbers for marketing reasons. They started selling merchandise even before their first race. People got clothes and diecast cars with #7 and #8, and they probably didn't wanted them to buy new ones after one year Making the fans feel milked is not something you wanna do when you want to get as many of them.

Pfft, Mission 2014, accomplished!

Kinja'd!!!

At least in crapcans. Porch Racing's version keeps dominating the west coast, too—we're kind of fearing we'll get knocked out of Class B by association.

What's this expensive thingy at the top of the page? ;o) (J/K, it's been the subject of all the wants ever since they announced it.)

(ARRRRGGGHHHH. This reminds me that I still need to write up LeMons weekend. Maybe I should get the "Part Two!" badgerers after that.)

That makes sense. Maybe Nissan will take the old Peugeot numbers then.

Also #9 being owned by Toyota seems logical - I wouldn't be surprised to see a third TS040 racing in Le Mans at some point.

I don't know what to say, I've been keeping my antennas up for information about Nissan. But they've gone silent. If they wanna race in WEC in 2015, they should be already working on the car, but they are saying that they are still in the evaluating phase . They also want to race with something that looks radically different , but I don't see how can you make a radically different LMP1 car, when the rule book is so thick.

They should be building the first prototype by now to test the drivetrain and to see if the lab data are consistent with real world data. And with Nismo not having any experience whatsoever in modern LMP racing, a partner like Dome would be of great help. Also, the final spec Nissan should be turning laps in summer if they don't want to have a full learning year in 2015.

Well, we haven't seen the first Toyota car, until they released pictures of it, and the camo'd Porsche 919 pictures we've seen last year, were also released by Porsche themselves. Race cars are not as easy to spy as production cars. So if Nissan doesn't want to show us their car, we won't see it. I am more concerned by the fact that they are absorbed in the ZEOD project, and(probably) didn't do much on the real car.

The ZEOD is a total marketing gag, there is nothing to be learned there for the real LMP1. Let's just hope that they make it in time.

I'm not so sure, the ability of doing an electric lap or more, during safety car periods or during the warm up lap before the race, could save precious fuel for when it's needed, giving them a strategic advantage.
